Choose views before camera quantities
Identify entrances, counters, storage areas and other agreed viewing locations. Explain lighting conditions and the detail required at each position. A model’s megapixel count alone does not establish whether it will capture useful detail in that scene. Mounting position, lens choice and lighting need assessment.
Budget for recording and network capacity
Match the NVR to the number of cameras, recording formats, bandwidth and storage arrangement. Include compatible surveillance disks, PoE capacity, cable runs and connectors. Do not assume an NVR includes a hard disk or built-in PoE ports. List those items explicitly so competing quotations cover the same system.
Include setup and a useful handover
Agree recording schedules, authorised access, retention objectives and backup-power requirements. Commission each view and check playback and export with the customer. Remote viewing should follow a suitable access design. Provide operating instructions and clarify which maintenance and support tasks are included after installation.

No. Size the backup from the full supported load, including cameras, switches, recorder and any equipment needed for remote access.
