Plan your storage upgrade with fitting in mind
An SSD or hard disk upgrade starts with the system that will use it. Tell us the computer model, current drive and whether you want additional space or a new system drive. Request an appointment if you need help checking compatibility and arranging installation.

SATA SSD comparison · Reviewed 10 October 2026
A 2.5-inch SATA SSD is a suitable upgrade only when your computer has a supported SATA connection and space for the drive. Choose the capacity that fits your applications and files, then check the exact model’s specifications and warranty.

| Published product | Price (LKR) |
|---|---|
| Lexar (USA) 1TB Ns100 2.5” Sata III SSD | 61,500 |
| Lexar (USA) 512GB Ns100 2.5” Sata III SSD | 35,500 |
| Lexar (USA) 256GB Ns100 2.5” Sata III SSD | 22,000 |
These are 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs with three-year warranties stated in the product listings. Confirm the applicable terms when ordering. The price of a drive does not include fitting or data migration unless the quotation says so.
Which capacity makes sense?
Check how much space you already use. A smaller drive may suit a light application setup, while larger capacities leave room for more working files. Capacity is separate from backup protection: keeping all your files on a 1TB SSD does not protect them from deletion or a drive failure.
Will this fit an M.2-only laptop?
A 2.5-inch SATA SSD cannot be installed directly in an M.2 slot. Some laptops support both a 2.5-inch bay and an M.2 slot, but the bay may need a cable, bracket or caddy. Confirm the exact machine configuration first.
How should I compare performance?
Read model-specific manufacturer specifications instead of treating every SATA SSD as identical. Sequential transfer rates do not predict every application’s response time. Workload, free space, system configuration and the condition of the previous drive influence the improvement you see.
An SSD is not a backup. Keep an independent copy of important files and confirm any data transfer or operating-system migration requirements before work begins. Manufacturer performance figures are model-specific maximums; actual results depend on the drive, interface and workload.
Next step
Compare interfaces in the SSD buying guide. If your machine supports PCIe storage, read the NVMe guide before choosing a drive. Share the full computer model with Richcom to confirm fit and service requirements.
