Product Information
The Level One (Germany) 28-Port Gigabit PoE Web Smart Managed Switch with 2 SFP Slots – GEP-2841 brings IP surveillance, wireless access points and business telephony together on a single Gigabit switching platform. Its 28-port configuration gives installers a clear basis for planning endpoint connections and fibre uplinks. The management features let administrators organise traffic and monitor the network as it grows.
VLAN, QoS, IGMP control, trunk groups, port mirroring, bandwidth control, loop detection and PoE port management are supported. VLANs can separate network traffic and QoS can prioritise time-sensitive services when correctly configured. Select optical modules that match the documented slot speed, fibre type, distance and far-end equipment. Transceivers and fibre cables are optional and are not listed as supplied accessories.
The 375W PoE budget is shared across all powered ports; the per-port maximum does not mean every port can supply that maximum simultaneously. Check each powered device’s standard and maximum demand before installation. Leave ventilation clearance around the chassis and install it in an appropriately ventilated location. Use the documented power input, mounting method and operating environment. The supplied items are listed in the specifications; additional cabling, optical modules and other accessories should be selected separately for the installation.
