EW-7317LDg combines a Wi-Fi detector with a USB wireless adapter. The detector displays information such as network name, channel, signal level and security status, helping a user locate a suitable legacy 2.4GHz network before connecting a computer. A rechargeable lithium-polymer battery supports the detector function.
When plugged into a compatible computer, it provides IEEE 802.11b/g connectivity through USB 2.0 Type-A. Its 54Mbps figure is a maximum radio link rate, not guaranteed Internet speed. Confirm the availability of a driver for the intended operating system and verify that the network accepts the device’s documented security modes.
