Product Information
The Level One GES-2118 is a Gigabit Smart Lite managed switch for offices, retail premises, classrooms and business network expansion. Its 16 copper Ethernet ports connect computers, printers, network storage and other wired devices, while two SFP slots provide uplink flexibility when used with compatible transceivers. The switch supports desktop placement or installation in a 19-inch rack using the supplied mounting kit.
For businesses moving beyond an unmanaged switch, the web interface provides useful control over network organisation and traffic handling. VLANs let administrators separate device groups, QoS helps give time-sensitive traffic appropriate priority, and IGMP snooping controls multicast forwarding. Static link aggregation, port mirroring and cable testing add practical tools for configuration and troubleshooting.
Fanless cooling makes the unit suitable for occupied rooms where fan noise would be distracting. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet helps reduce consumption during quieter network periods, while surge and ESD protection add resilience. The GES-2118 does not supply PoE power: connected phones, cameras or access points must use their own power supplies or suitable PoE injectors. SFP modules are not listed in the supplied package and should be selected separately for the required connection.
Choose this model when you need 16 Gigabit copper connections, dedicated SFP uplinks and straightforward Layer 2 management. Richcom supplies this listing with 3 years warranty.
